It’s not an actual scene from the story but rather a representation of their relationship. She met Eric when he got kidnapped and turned into this form in some wicked experiment. She took him to safety but instead of waiting for her to find a way to help him, Eric tried to create an antidote on his own. He was desperate and even killed innocent people and creatures to get what he needed.

No matter how many times he messed up, Yuki would always help him get out of trouble. Every time was “the last time”, but she just can’t say no when someone is in danger (it’s her main weakness).

There’s probably no other person who tested her patience like Eric did. Whenever he was falling down, she would follow.

Eventually Yuki got a medallion from an old friend, a medallion that turns creatures into humans (and the other way around). It works for about a week or two so Eric is dependant on its power, but it’s the only way to keep his human form, at least for now.

(Eric is a would-be matemathician and chemist, he left a famous university to focus completely on his own work. Well, the school didn’t want to fund experiments involving MAGIC)
